Argentina's Sarrasine released their first EP as a digital only release in 2014 and it made quite a few "best of" lists by the end of the year. This is some of the most inventive and interesting half-hours of shoegaze/dream-pop bliss that I have ever heard. Bending the genre every which way into the direction of twee and even prog-rock. It's the kind of EP that you want to loop over and over to hear all the intricacies that you couldn't catch the first time around. When I first approached Sarrasine about releasing the EP as a physical format they were reluctant due to the fact that, in their words "Argentina is the land of piracy and free downloads". I offered to still release the EP in hopes that U.S. listeners would value a physical copy and that Sarrasine could find some much deserved new fans.
